New Shoes for Big Green

July 3, 2012

Tony and I took a leisurely trip over to Lakeport, CA on Sunday, because I needed some photos for an article I’m writing for MotoSFO.com, Carla King’s new Website showcasing motorcycle rides in and around the Bay Area and northern California.

When we arrived home, Tony noticed a glint of metal shining at the back of my bike, and sure enough, my tires are showing steel. Good thing I made it home safely and that he noticed!

The new rubber is on its way from Bike Bandit, and I should have new shoes on the bike by the weekend, when yet another epic ride is planned with Tony and Cindi Servante. Stay tuned for that ride report!

I need new tires

Battleax BT016’s showing steel. Yikes!

A little cord showing means you got your money’s worth. My last set looked like that too!

You’re right, Chris, I think I put this last set on almost 9,000 miles ago, when the bike was new to me. However, this is a lesson for me in looking a little more closely, a little more often. Cheers! Liz

I just ordered a new rear tire and am expecting delivery any day now. I need to order a new set for my scooter too, apparently I ride my Shadow & my scooter a lot according to my hub, he has only bought new shoes for his bike a few times & that is after owning it for 20+ years.

Hi Dar: I hope your tire comes soon! It seems lots of folks are in the same boat; I guess that’s good, it means we’re riding!

Thanks for stopping by. I love your blog but have difficulty posting comments to the blogger blogsites—just know you’re being read! 🙂 Cheers! Liz
